The COTA or Central Ohio Transit Authority is the public sector transit-agency which serves Franklin Country along with the rest of Columbus, OH areas.

Currently, the COTA manages only the bus services though the streetcar or light-rail service is discussed often in the past years.

The administrative offices and bus-garages are situated near the downtown Columbus. They are managed by Bill Lhota who is the present CEO and one among the thirteen member trustees. COTA acquired assets from CTC on 1st of January, 1974 which began operations on that day itself.
