
Pre-History of Columbus, OH
After Ohio received statehood during 1803, political instability made the prominent leaders name Columbus as the Capital City. The city was named in honour of the famous voyager Christopher Columbus and was founded on 14th February, 1812. During that time period the area comprised of dense forestlands and it was used as a hunting ground.
Later, the Borough of Columbus was established officially on 10th February, 1816. As a result of the 1812 War, the city had earned prosperity and nine members were elected for different positions, ranging from the Treasurer to the Mayor.
