It was in the year of 2006 October that the last tornado hit Columbus. It was rated F2 as per the Fujita scale. It was not as strong as in the other cities and hurricanes are very rare in the history of Columbus.
The major incident of snow storm was recorded in the year of 2008 march when 204 inches of snow fell in the city and affected a big portion of Midwestern United States.
The area also had frozen precipitation which resulted in power outages all over the central portion of Ohio. The Northern part of Columbus received twelve to eighteen inches of snow storm with several snow glides.
