What is the general topography of Columbus and why is it so
At the western region of the downtown Columbus is where the rivers Olentangy and Scioto are found to confluence. Numerous small tributaries of the rivers like Darby Creek, Big Walnut Creek and Alum Creek pass through the metro region of Columbus. In general, the topography of Columbus is known to be relatively flat.
The reason for this flat topography is an enormous glacier which was known to cover a large part of Ohio when the Wisconsin Ice Age prevailed. You will notice a difference in the elevation as there is a high point called Franklin County which is 1132 feet above the sea-level.
