
Columbus city developments in the 19th Century
The Columbus city has major developments during the nineteenth century as it witnessed the growth of several manufacturing businesses.
Later, Columbus was regarded as the "Buggy Capital" of the world as a result of the establishment of more than twenty four buggy factories. During the same time period, the Consolidated Brewing Company grew in prominence and achieved huge success which was basically influenced by Westerville's League of Anti-Saloon.
Afterwards, Buckeye Steel Castings was presided over by Samuel P Bush and created a revolution especially in the steel industry. During 1886, the American Federation of Labor was established by Samuel Gompers on S Fourth Street in Druid's Hall. Later, United Mine Workers of America was established in 1890 at City Hall by prominent leaders.
