
A brief note on the Airfield in Columbus airport
In the past, the Columbus airport had two runways which were 2,500 feet and 3,500 long, respectively. The total area of the Columbus airport covers 2,185 acres of land. In the recent years, they have extended the length of the runways to 8,000 and 10,125 feet.
The 1st runway (10R/28L) is 10,125 feet long x 150 feet wide which is equipped with ILS that can accommodate carrier or passenger aircrafts. It lies at 40th Parallel north to the terminal.
The other runway (10L/28R) is also equipped with ILS and it is 8,000 x 150 feet.
