The Ohio Statehouse was established in 1861. It was completed just as the Civil War was about to start. The architecture style is that of Greek revival with elegant open grand staircases. The Ohio State house tool 22 years to build but it has since been restored in 1996 so it looks more it as it was built.

The State House has a marble bust of Abraham Lincoln and during the Civil War, many Union soldieries used to camp at the Statehouse grounds.

Sometimes the Statehouse is called Capitol Square because aside the state house, the place also has the Senate Building and Atrium which are all Official buildings.

Tour times are Monday to Friday, from 10AM to 3PM and on Saturday and Sunday from 12 pm to 3PM. Each tour session last for a maximum of 60 minutes.
