The Ohio Village is a living museum operated by the Ohio Historical Society. It is a replica of a typical village in Ohio during the American Civil War. There are 22 buildings like a large old fashioned church, Town Hall, education center and print shop, which have been built as a reproduction of historic structures. Adena Mansion and Gardens is a tourist attraction of Ohio Village which was earlier the house of Ohio governor Thomas Worthington. The estate has five buildings and many gardens. One can walk around the various bushes and orchards or enjoy looking at the beautiful Scioto River nearby. A museum has been set up at this place recently that provides an idea of the life of Ohio people during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. This location is closed on Monday, Tuesday, winter months and special holidays.

Founded in 1837, the Village of New Albany Ohio lies north east of the Buckeye state capital. It is located in Franklin County and a vibrant growing suburb. Ohio Historical Village is a museum operated by the Ohio Historical Society. The village is a recreation of rural community that existed during the period of Civil War. The village is a town square and is surrounded by 15 buildings where the visitors can watch the residents performing the daily chores which were done during the 19th century life. The village also has costumed interpreters which welcomes the tourist and describes them the operations of the public buildings.

After the normal operating hours of the village the gardens, grounds and buildings of the village is made available for organizing private and special events.
