This college was started in 1967 with a meager enrollment of only 67 students. Now the college has over 20000 enrollments and is aiming to increase this in the coming years. Being a community college it is dedicated to serving its community and working towards the gradual development of all its members.

The college offers a variety of professional courses and is also active in 9 off-center campuses. The campus itself is extremely picturesque and has 27 buildings which house the various departments.

The State college is well connected with all major areas in the city. It is in the vicinity of places like Long Street, Spring Street, Jefferson Avenue and Cleveland Avenue.
