Is there a Columbus Ohio Marathon in 2009

This year, the Nationwide Better Health Columbus Marathon is in its 30th anniversary and is holding the race on the said date. Every time that the race comes to a close, athletes across the country train just to compete.

1. What is the Columbus Marathon?

The first ever Columbus Marathon held in 1980 was a flat fast race course that begins in downtown Columbus. It goes east to Bexley then back to the Old Town East. It continues to German Village passing through the Short North Arts District and downtown Columbus until the athletes reach Upper Arlington. They go down through The Ohio State University campus and to Victorian Village before going back to the Arena Districts Nationwide Arena, where a huge crowd awaits. The winner of the marathon receives a prize, which is $2500 as the first prize, $1000 as the second prize, and $750 as the third. If you want to join this event, contact your Columbus travel agency and make arrangements.

2. How to be part of the Columbus Marathon?

  • Participants of the full marathon must be at least 16 years old, while the runners at the ? marathon must be 12 years of age.
  • Register online and pay the designated rates for the different runners to reserve a slot
  • You can also register manually by downloading the registration form from the official website and filling it up. Mail the form to the address given.
  • You can search for the list of the registered runners at Columbus Marathon's official website.
  • If you want to become a volunteer, you can also register online.
