If you are someone who is into car racing then you will simply love to come to this place - the Columbus Motor Speedway.

Looking into the history behind the place, it came about in the year 1945 when 50 acres of land area was purchased by John Nuckles and Robert Roseberry. Their intention in purchasing such land was to begin a race track. In the following year, it began to be used as a dirt track by motorcycles. A decade later, the track was improved to serve the purpose of official car racing.

In the course of time, Robert Roseberry sold his part of the track's ownership to John Nuckles and the track lies in the ownership of the Nuckles family to this day. It has been granted a NASCAR sanctioning agreement and it hosts a NASSCAR sanctioned racing series the Whelen All-American Series. Additionally there are also races happening every week.

The races series that are seen to happen every week are street stock, sportsman and model divisions. In addition to this, the races conduced here can also occasionally include winged-sprint cars, legends and midgets.

Today, this speedway is a top quality racing venue. It has a new concrete wall, restrooms, grandstands, lighting system, paved pit pads, large playground and much more. What makes this venue all the more interesting is that it is not just a spot for car racing, but it is a place for travel Columbus OH to enjoy with your whole family. It hosts trailer exhibitions, school and bus exhibitions, and also NASCAR "legends" races.

Important NASCAR races that are not to be missed here including the annual John Nuckles Memorial, the NASCAR Winston Cup Superstar Shootout, the 100 Lap Nascar Late Model and the 75 Lap NASCAR Late Model.
