
Columbus Marathon
The Columbus Marathon was first run in the year 1980 and features a fast and flat course. The course begins from Columbus downtown and takes the athletes through Bexley Ohio, past the Capital University and Governor's Mansion, back through Old Town East, through German Village in the south, through Short North Arts District, Upper Arlington, the Ohio State University, streets of Victorian Village and finishes outside the Arena District's Nationwide Arena.
The run for the Columbus Marathon starts at 7:30 am for the runners and walkers. The course remains open till 3 pm and awards are given to the winners from various age groups. Top three are selected from overall and the ? marathon and top three from each age group.
The ½ marathon starts along with the full marathon near the Brood and Third Street's corner. The athletes at the ? marathon have to run or walk to its finish and start with the rest at 7:30 am. The marathon of Columbus is also a top chair racing marathon of the country.
