Columbus Convention Center

The Columbus Convention Center is one of the most well-known convention centers of Columbus, Ohio. The architectural plan for this convention center was developed by Peter Eisenman. The mansion was constructed in 1993; but it underwent expansion and further renovations in 1999.

Peter Eisenman got the opportunity to design the architectural plan for this manor after winning the design competition. After the construction was finished the Columbus Convention Center was opened to the common people in 1993. The expansion plans which were due in 1999 were completed in 2001.

The halls of the Columbus Convention Center are named alphabetically as there are many of them. Many people feel that the plan that Eisenman proposed for this mansion was slightly outlandish but basically there were certain budget constraints for which some of the ingredients and designs were developed keeping the cost factor in mind.

But in the entire plan the functionality and simplicity factors have been incorporated noticeably. There are large pavilions which extend to the rear part of the manor.
